It Really Is Us Against Them

I didn't bother wasting my time watching either Democrat or Republican conventions this year. But this poster is spot on. Out of fairness to Bubba, Romney is no different or better. The Republican Party certainly wants no separation of business and the state. Then again, as Clinton and his party of corporate bail-outs prove, neither do Democrats.

Your choice this election is between two political parties that wish to merge corporate and state power, a power that will sponge up or wipe out any aspect of life--related to our jobs, our families, our travel, our homes, or our art--that cannot be controlled by them.

Ahhhh, totalitarianism. What sweet relief thou art to the dread of freedom. Suck it up, America. Until your civilization crumbles, you are fucked beyond belief.

It's always a relief to see younger punk rock bands send a positive, up-lifting message to the youth of America. Of course, like a lot of punk rock music, the lyrics below suffer from a lack of poetry. But throughout my life I've usually chosen to befriend the few people in the world who are direct and to the point --people who yak it up at a local dive every night--rather than those all-too-many clever wits, who hang an unearned air of self-importance from their noses pointed to the sky, that nearly matches their pretense of speaking with nuance and culture.  Those belonging to the latter group would do well to go into public speaking, to enter the professional world of politics, to save humanity from itself by wooing the masses with grandiose oratory and establishing a cult of personality that sells itself with its master plan to create a new, clean, healthy, prosperous, harmonious world-wide order for every living human being and child forever and ever!

In contrast to that stuff--between the raw and the cooked--I like my friends and music raw. And here's one bad-ass raw song by Naked Aggression that gets right to the point of the reality we face this election: it doesn't matter who wins; Either way, it's us against them. Cheers!

"Us Against Them," by Naked Aggression

Ahhhh!
Fuck off
Every single day I get more pissed off
I protest in the street and tell the government to fuck off
They can call the troops out
They can try to lock me up
That'll not stop me
I'll fight until I die
I will fight them

We can stop them
Don't give
Leaders
Control
Take back your life
Don't give
Leaders
Control
Take back your life

I hate this fucking system, want to smash it to the ground
People following orders
Doing what they're told to do
Not thinking for themselves
Fitting in society's mold
The leaders want us all this way
Little clones that they control
The government
Is fighting a
War against us
They are the true enemy
It's us against them
Us against them
Us against them
Us against them

Ahhhhhhh!
Fuck off
The entire world is a bloody mess
People getting killed by the governments that oppress
I am sick of their shit,
I refuse to take it
We outnumber them
So let's take back our lives
I will fight them

We can stop them
Don't give
Leaders
Control
Take back your life
Don't give
Leaders
Control
Take back your life

I hate this fucking system
I want to burn it to the ground
Don't listen to authority
They are trying to kill us all
Fuck this establishment
They put lies into our heads
Since they can't control us
They want to see us dead
The government
Is fighting a
War against us
They are the true enemy
It's us against them
Us against them
Us against them
Us against them
